Last Updated: 8/8/2025
North Shore Notary Co. (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates as a DBA of The Deady Group LLC and provides notary and related services in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. By using our services or visiting our website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree, you may not use our services.
1. Scope of Services
We provide:
-
In-person notary services within Massachusetts
-
Loan signing and mobile notary services
-
Future Remote Online Notarization (RON) services (Massachusetts presence required for the notary)
-
Other related services as agreed in writing
We perform notarial acts in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 222, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
2. Not Legal Advice
We are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice. Notarial acts verify identity, willingness to sign, and awareness of the contents of a document — they do not confirm the truth, validity, or legality of the document itself.
3. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
-
Present valid, government-issued, unexpired photo identification
-
Ensure documents are complete before notarization (no blank spaces unless legally permitted)
-
Appear in person (or via approved RON platform when applicable) for the notarization
-
Be aware that we may refuse service if identification is insufficient, the signer appears unwilling or coerced, or if the transaction is prohibited by law
4. Fees and Payment
-
Fees for notarial acts comply with Massachusetts law and will be disclosed prior to service
-
Additional charges may apply for travel, wait time, printing, or after-hours service
-
We accept payments via major credit cards American Express, VISA, Mastercard, cash, or check
-
Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing
5. Cancellations and No-Shows
-
Cancellations made with at least 24 hours’ notice will not incur a fee
-
Same-day cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a service charge or travel fee
6. Recordkeeping and Privacy
-
We are required by Massachusetts law to maintain a notary journal for 7 years; journal entries cannot be deleted upon request
-
We handle all personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy
-
RON sessions (once offered) will be recorded and stored securely for the legally required period
7. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party platforms (e.g., payment processors, scheduling tools, cloud storage, RON providers) to deliver services. These providers have their own terms and privacy policies, which govern their handling of your data.
8. Limitations of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
-
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services
-
Our liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question
-
We are not responsible for losses caused by incomplete, inaccurate, or fraudulent documents presented for notarization
9. Refusal of Service
We reserve the right to refuse service when:
-
Legal requirements for notarization are not met
-
The signer appears unwilling, unaware, or coerced
-
The document is incomplete, contains illegal content, or is suspected of fraud
10. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, images, and logos, is owned by The Deady Group LLC or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use this content without written permission.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and applicable federal laws.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The “Last Updated” date will reflect the most recent changes. Continued use of our services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
